Cinnabar moth caterpillars on the ragwort, bees enjoyed the chives, harlequin ladybirds were all around the gardens. The highlights were visits from a female Southern Hawker dragonfly and a Green Shield bug.
Red Admirals enjoyed the fallen pears and the buddleia.
September flowers and fruits
The sedum spectabile “Autumn Joy” in the Bee and Butterfly border started making a wonderful display.
Crimson flag lilies, Japanese anemones, Rudbeckia and Michaelmas daisies (asters) all provided autumn colour to The Storey Gardens.
Wild strawberries, Duke of Devonshire and Sunset apples, and Hessle pears.
This is a blog about interesting nature sights in the gardens such as flowers in bloom or wildlife seen.
