On Friday 4 October 2019, volunteers planted 4,000 yellow crocus bulbs in The Tasting Garden. The money for these bulbs came from a donation by the late Roger Mace, former Lancaster City Councillor and Mayor of Lancaster.
Despite the rain, which was sometimes heavy, 20 volunteers came at various times between 9 am and 4 pm. Four Lancaster City Councillors came along to help and one brought his wife and two boys to help with the planting of the bulbs.
All the bulbs were planted and we look forward to the display in the spring. Below are some photos from the day.
