Theme “Architecture”
Friday 12 September to Saturday 20 September 2025
The Friends of the Storey Gardens and The Storey will be holding a combined event for the 2025 England wide Heritage Open Days festival.
Friends of the Storey Gardens volunteers will be in the Storey Gardens and in The Storey to greet visitors on Saturday 13 September 2025 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The theme for 2025 is “Architecture”.
For this year we will be featuring the stained glass window on the first floor of the Storey, the Georgian wall that separates the two sections of the gardens, the portico entrance from Castle Park and the Arboriculturalist’s Workshed located in one corner of The Tasting Garden.
We also have a “Storey Discovery Trail”. The Friends have created a route around the block, a short walk around The Storey locality highlighting local connections. On the route around the block you can discover the connections between commerce, architecture and philanthropy in this historic corner of Lancaster.
You can download the map from this website. Alternatively, if you cannot visit in person there is an online version of the route with photographs of the places and views described. Click here to read more about the Walk around the Block.
